New build 6th Form building within the curtilage of the high school to accommodate up to 200 students/learners
The Brief
- Environmentally-friendly new build 6th form building, complete with classrooms, changing rooms and showers for home and away teams, commercial kitchen and dining area
- Will not intrude/obstruct normal schooling hours and activities during construction
The Solution
- Central ‘spine’ of glass bringing in natural daylighting on main circulation route
- Use of air-source heat pump
- A new separate site entrance was created from Dewhurst Road (north of site) to separate construction traffic
- Designed to provide a vibrant flexible environment, able to respond to continuing changes
